However, the purchase of private health insurance is relatively inexpensive. Depending on the coverage you decide on, the plans will cover up to €40k per year, €100k per year or €2M per year. If you are visiting Cyprus for a shorter period of time and are a citizen of an EEA country or Switzerland, you are eligible to apply for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). This will offer a reduced cost medical treatment for up to 90 days in Cyprus.
