Knight Frank, one of the largest independent real estate consultancy agencies based in London, will launch the 13th edition of its Wealth Report in Mumbai this month. The award-winning publication brings together world class research on prime property and investment and provides the sharpest insights on the latest matters affecting the world’s wealthiest.
The report was published online today, and a foretaste of the top stories reveals a set of stimulating topics that also delve into the environmental conscientiousness of the wealthy, redefining today’s investments of passion. At the forefront is an inspiring interview with Jochen Zeitz, one of the world’s most influential businessmen and eco-entrepreneur, the man behind Puma’s revival. Breaking history’s records as the youngest CEO of a German listed company he is also responsible for the rewilding of Africa and a global venture for encouraging sustainable business.
At a glance, the key findings of the report and the outlook for the year ahead are as follows; despite the geopolitical tensions and oftentimes grim economic outlook, global wealth creation is expected to rise by 22% over the next five years. India will be leading Asia’s five-year growth in the number of UHNWI’s at 39%. London will remain the leading global wealth centre in 2019 irrespective of the Brexit outcome. The wealthy will continue to demand access to world wealth markets and a record of 26% of global UHNWI’s will begin to plan for emigration in 2019, with 36% of UHNWI’s already holding a second passport.
“The UHNWI’s residential real estate choices are increasingly driven by the search for stability.” Knight Frank Wealth Report 2019.
The Wealth Report highlights residential and commercial markets across the world that present attractive investment opportunities as well as investments of passion outside the world of real estate, in fact this year, Whisky topped the Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index. Parting from old traditions, last year the Wealth report investigated the impact of blockchain on property markets, in this edition the focus shifts to how blockchain is changing the art and luxury collectables market.
Considering the prestige around the Wealth Report, it comes as no surprise that the launch is essentially a high-powered luxury-lifestyle affair, where brands meet to bring eye-catching entertainment, art and fashion into the elite limelight.
Taking place across prime cities including New York, London, Melbourne and Amsterdam, the event is graced with the attendance of the world’s most affluent across geographies. Mumbai will welcome a notable number of UHNWI’s in an exclusive gala evening, beautified with wedding haute couture by Payal Singhal and a musical performance by acclaimed percussionist Anandan Sivamani. Attending the occasion from Knight Frank will be India’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shishir Baijal, Alistair Elliott, Senior Partner and Group Chairman for Great Britain and Lord Andrew Hay, Partner and Global Head of Residential.
The event will see the launch of the Knight Frank Wealth Report 2019, on the 15th of March 2019 at Taj Lands End, Bandra. Millwood Kane International serves as the official Title Sponsor of the event.
